Alaska Adventure Photo Tour- Katmai National Park

September 2-7, 2011 - Limit 4 photographers - space still available

Price is $1,495 if registered before June 6, 2011

------------------------------------------------------

The Adventure of a lifetime!

DAY 1 - (Friday, Sept 2)

Fly into Anchorage, AK.

DAY 2 - (Saturday, Sept 3)

Today, we will fly via Katmai Air from Anchorage to King Salmon. In King Salmon we will board a small float plane. The float plane will land on Naknek Lake in Katmai National Park. We'll set up camp there. The remainder of the day will be spent getting acquainted with our home in the middle of the Alaska wilderness. Our camp is along Naknek Lake just a short walk from the famous Brooks Falls. We will eat our meals at the Brooks Falls lodge.

DAY 3 - (Sunday, Sept 4)

This is our second day shooting bears around the Brooks River as they feed on colorful red sockey salmon.

DAY 4 - (Monday, Sept 5)

This will be our third day shooting bears, bald eagles, and other wildlife.

Today, we'll take a flight-seeing tour over the Valley of 10,000 Smokes. It's hard to believe how amazing these views are until you see them for yourself. We will be playing it by ear with the pilots on the ground to see if Day 3 or 5 may actually be more clear for flying. Thus, this part of the adventure will remain tentative and flexible.

DAY 5 - (Tuesday, Sept 6)

This will be our fourth and final day shooting bears.

We'll get a few final glances from the cute young cubs, then we'll hop on the plane back to King Salmon and ultimately Anchorage. We will stay in Anchorage one final night tonight unless you choose to make other plans. When in Alaska, some folks choose to stay a bit longer and see more of it. If you have the time, I recommend it.

DAY 6 - (Wednesday, Sept 7)

We will fly home.

------------------------- Important Information ---------------------------

I've spent 8 wonderful days here before in addition to countless hours shooting bears in other environments. Katmai is one of the best bear viewing areas in the world! This time of year will land us right in the middle of fall color. The bears will be feeding on the beautiful red sockeye salmon. I'll bring you expertise in shooting these bears as well as hands-on instruction from my laptop during meal times throughout the week.

Our flight-seeing tour over the volcanoes is a must, but our flight day will be determined by the weather.

This adventure is priced as low as it is ($1,495) for many reasons. The costs are minimal, because we will be camping. More details on the secure camping area available upon request. Secondly, this trip is one we've priced as a "scouting trip," because this is the first group tour we have led into Katmai National Park. Thus, we'll be starting with this small group and working out any kinks before leading larger groups in future years.

In the interest of keeping rates as low as possible, we are asking you to pay by personal check rather than taking the 3-4% hit from online credit card services. Therefore, please mail your non-refundable deposit of $495 to the address below.
