Workshops and Tours

Paul is a passionate teacher and always full of energy. You can expect to master camera basics. Then, through Paul's lively coaching you'll progress as far as your heart desires into the wonderful world of "seeing light."

We offer CAMERA CLASSES each January, WORKSHOPS in the Great Smoky Mountains each Spring and Fall, and PHOTO TOURS in Patagonia, Alaska, and Grand Teton.

Camera Class 1 DAY COURSE - If you just can't muster the courage to get your camera off AUTO.

Workshop 3 DAY COURSE - If you understand the basics of your camera but you want to expand your understanding of light in the greatest classroom on earth--the Great Smoky Mountains.

Tour 5-10 DAY COURSE - If you have prior photography experience and yearn to have the nature photo experience of a lifetime. This year we're traveling to Patagonia, Alaska, and Grand Teton.

About Photo Tours

Photo Tours are different from workshops in a few ways.

Tours are generally 5-10 days, thus, much longer than a 3-day Smokies workshop. All lodging is booked for you and included in your tuition. During a workshop Paul ensures that he pays the closest possible attention to the learning of each shooter by not conducting any shooting of his own. On a photo tour you are journeying into the field with Paul. Therefore, you can except to shoot alongside him. Clients find this to be a uniquely valuable experience in itself.
